Have you decided that 2017 will be the year in which you will get married? Then start by picking a date. And yes, that might be tougher than you think! There are a lot of things that you need to keep in mind when choosing your wedding date. In this blog, we will remind you of all important things you need to consider before picking a final date!
To marry or not to marry during wedding season?
Most people would like it to be dry and sunny during their wedding day. So it should come as no surprise that the wedding season starts at May and ends around mid-September. During these months, the chance on good weather is fairly high! But July and August are also the perfect months for a summer vacation, especially for people with young children. Therefore, most couples get married in May, June, and September. If you don’t have a specific day, date or month in mind, choosing one of these three months would be wise.
But there are, of course, also a lot of people whom would prefer an autumn or winter wedding. The ambience during these months will, by a lot of people, be considered as romantic. Would you love taking your wedding pictures in the snow? Or would your perfect venue be a small castle lighted by candles? Than one of the autumn or winter months might be the perfect choice for you!
Choose your wedding month wisely, because you’re supposed to only marry once! Your wedding date is a very personal choice. You want to be able to celebrate this day every year from now on. So don’t let anyone influence your choice, make a choice based on what feels good for you! If you like warmth, and rain is your worst nightmare, than choose one of the months during wedding season! When you cannot think of a more romantic wedding day than seeing all your guests keeping warm at small bonfires, than you know which months are perfect for your wedding!
Next up: which day to choose?
After you have made up your minds and you know in which month you will be getting married, you still have to choose a day. Your wedding guests may prefer a day in a weekend. This way, they don’t have to take a day off and they also have the day after your wedding to recover from all the festivities. However, it is possible that for example, your wedding venue, is more expensive in the weekends than on weekdays. Are you on a tight budget? Than it might be wise to skip any festivities in weekends!
Don’t forget to consult your desired wedding suppliers!
Before choosing a final day and month, make sure to consult all your favourite wedding suppliers. Especially during wedding season, there is a possibility that your wedding supplier already has other obligations. So make sure, beforehand, that all wedding suppliers are available on your desired wedding date to prevent any unpleasant surprises!
